How Crypton uses artificial intelligence on our platform.
Last updated: September 2026
Crypton uses artificial intelligence in two distinct ways. Platform AI runs on self-hosted infrastructure we control and is not optional for SMS abuse prevention. Crypton AI (Chat and the API) is an optional product you turn on: prompts are sent to Seeweb S.r.l. in Italy for inference and are not retained by that provider after the reply. We do not use OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, or similar US labs for Crypton AI. We still do not use AI for customer support.
For broader data handling practices, see our Privacy Policy. PRIVACY POLICY
Outgoing SMS messages sent through Crypton phone numbers are screened by an AI content filter before delivery.
Crypton uses a self-hosted TranslateGemma model to translate Crypton-authored content into other languages.
Crypton Chat and the OpenAI-compatible Crypton AI API are optional. You must have an account. Nothing is sent to the inference provider until you send a Chat message or call the API.
If your outgoing message is blocked by the content filter, you can revise and resend it. Blocked messages appear in your conversation so you know what was held back. You can delete Crypton Chat threads at any time. You can revoke API keys from your dashboard.
If you believe a message was blocked in error, open a support ticket from your account or reach us via SimpleX Chat to appeal. Our team will review the block and respond as quickly as possible.
